What is it like being a black kid going to a school with mostly white kids?

I really want to know. My mom is thinking of transferring me to a catholic school. I'm choosing between like four schools. All of the schools have a lot of white children. Do you think that I'd get race threats or racist jokes at all? I'm black, in 11th grade and almost 17 in 15 days. OK, here's my personality. I'm a nice person, I never get in trouble, I'm kind of shy and I'm kind of quiet unless I get to know you. If I ever got to know you, I'd talk more.

Don't tell me "Not to act Ghetto." Because I'm not.

Oh yeah, and I live in Pennsylvania. One of the schools is in a richer area called Radnor. :P Is anyone racist up there? I'm not poor so I don't think that I could get made fun of for being poor. I live kind of close to that area.

And the school I currently go to now has white children and their nice to me. :) But my old school also has black people and for the most part their nice to me too :D except for some. So would it be different at a catholic school?

It's really awkward. I am literally the ONLY black girl at school, and I am being stared at constantly. It feels so weird, but I like being an outcast so I like it, I guess lol.

But you'll be fine.

EDIT: Any racism? No, actually....for the most part, the kids at the high school I go to don't care about race...

It was a HORRIBLE experience for me. White men were so rude to me. They shoved me into a wall (oddly enough that time it didn't hurt) and then into a locker to where my arm really hurt that time. One time, a very large group of white men were starring me down like the knew something I didn't and then I heard one say "Black women are greasy" and his stupid friends started laughing...I reported the beasts and they got theirs. He also said "coons (racial term for blacks) belong in cages." My friend told me this was said when I wasn't around.

I have gotten all sorts of rudeness and rude comments and I am advising you not to go to an all white school. Even the blacks hated their own race, this was a terrible experience. I was verbally bullied and humiliated by a black guy for 2 years b/c he hated black girls. My first college was not too too different. Whites would stare at me like I was an alien and I heard rude comments and the someone drew a swastika in the bathroom. I am grateful that my current college is very diverse and people are generally kind and open minded here, because in all white places I was mocked and disrespected sometimes. Even these white guys I didn't know would run from me like I was diseased, every time they saw me. Find diverse places.

So my mom transferred me over to this highschool and holy crap guys THIS WAS A COUNTRY SCHOOL...at my lunch when there's usually 30 blacks there was only like 10 and every white guy had on cowboy boots and country stuff..so you can bet i was nervous because im shy like you and not ghetto but everything is fine. This school is sooo country in the rulebook is a clothing thing saying "There cant be a confederate flag anywhere on your clothes."
