Bike battery 12v, car battery 12v, you didnt double voltage :/ most likely you blew a fuse because of the massive amps + dead short. and for future reference, its a bad idea to jump off a bike with a car if you can avoid it, ive had to do it with no issues. but never jump a bike off with a running car, way too much current and can possibly fry all kinds of expensive eletronics

If the bike is going down the street it has been my expertise that when there's an electrical concern the bike will simply shut off,bam its executed. When there is a gas main issue the bike will make a "baughhh noise while you twist the throttle after which slowly die. With what you described it practically sounds like a twin problem.Try opening the gasoline cap and go for a journey with it opened up,if it runs excellent then you may have a plugged vent line or a plugged gas filter which is not going to allow the correct go with the flow to preserve up with the demand. That you would be able to determine the vent line via blowing some air into it and whether it is ok you'll hear it popping out within the tank.Which you could verify the go with the flow of the filter by means of taking the hose off on the out going side of it and it will have to run out lovely good.If it doesn't change the filter and if it nonetheless would not clean the display in the bottom of the petcock. Now if the bike dies with the gasoline cap opened and then re starts 15 minutes later then i'd suspect a ignition coil predicament -when the coil cools down it is going to re fire .

Teh Lone Ranger may be an engineer, but he's not a mechanic. Reversing the leads reversed the polarity but did not double the voltage. And your bike does not have a distributor.

As the other responder said, check the fuses. Most igniters have diodes that will prevent damage when the current is applied backwards. If the fuses check out ok but you still get nothing at all, look for any wires at the regulator-rectifier that are burned or melted.

Since you used double the correct voltage, it is most likely that a fuse has burned out.

If not, you are in deep trouble. The entire contents of the distributor will have to be replaced, and you will need a new coil, too.

In future, if a battery fails to hold a charge, the only cure is a new one, that is, if the battery fluid is over the plates in every cell.

never try to fast charge a battery, this can cause it to explode, and battery acid will go everywhere, including on you. Not a good idea.

Main fuse is blown, this is very common.
