MTG: damage each player? Planeswalkers?
If a spell or an effect says each player takes X damage. Does this mean that in addition to each player taking damage each planeswalker also takes X damage? Also what if the wording was each player loses X life?

Christopher, the loss of life has nothing to do with the fact that planeswalkers dont have life and everything to do with the fact that only players can lose life and planeswalkers are not players.
The rules specifically state that you may redirect any non-combat damage from a spell that you play against your opponent to his planeswalker (for instance if you played Lightning Bolt on your opponent, you could redirect the 3 damage to his planeswalker). You may not redirect damage that is going to you to your planeswalker.

A Planeswalker is not a player, it is a permanent. But when you cast the spell you can choose to have the damage hit a planeswalker. Losing life would do nothing to a planeswalker since those don't have life.

It still deals the injury to the creatures. The Planeswalker cards, whilst representing the vigor of getting a teammate participant, are usually not gamers. Chandra's Fury's target participant is still you, even when the injury will get redirected to your planeswalker, so you are nonetheless the "goal player".
