My goldfish's eye is black, can he see?

My ryukin's eye is completely black, he is calico (multicolor), so he does have black on him. His eye has been like this since he was born. Can he see through it, or is he blind?

    It's completely normal and yes, he he can see with that eye. Sometimes it is referred to as "button eye", sometimes one or both eyes of calico goldfish are black like that (:
