Kribensis fry care question?
So today i was cleanin the tank and i noticed that the kribensis wouldent leave this one area so i lifted up the top of the cave to find about 200-300 eggs atleast? was kind of shocked as i havent had them very long
So my question is can you tell how old the eggs are? i read that it takes about a week to hatch
then 10days after that they would be free swimmin but i dont have to do anythin as the parents take care of them for 2months untill they are ready to spawn again is that true? or should i provide them with abit more care then i do now?
also as there is so many eggs they all wont hatch right lol because there is no way i can handle that many kribs
sorry if these are stupid questions but iv only ever had guppy fry lol

You cant really tell how old the eggs are the female will be in the cave and the male will be guarding the entrance The eggs should hatch after3 to 7 days.
The parents do a great job of raising the fry and you dont need to do anything other than make sure you feed the fry The fry can fed powdered food but the best food is baby brine shrimp. Feed them the baby brine shrimp until they are big enough to take other food.

Should you imply via care for the livebearer fry you mean eat, then sure. Kribs themselves are egg layers. They spawn in a cave, the female will disappear, and about 3 days later show up with a herd of fry, it is going to take about 4-5 months earlier than they are sexable and krib mum and dad don't mind cohabiting with their own fry so long as the tank is huge adequate. They're good moms and dads, however handiest to their possess fry.

well like all fish you start with a lot but end up with only half or less as many juviniles than there was when there was fry.you just do the average 2 10 percent water changes a day feed them brine shrimp 3 times a day and you can limit that when they get bigger and siphon out dead and dieing fry the rules of spawning cichlids (not mouth brooders) are usally simaliar and the parents will make a new batch every 2-4 weeks.
