PLUMBING/TOILET problem??? :( any advice please?

After opening, the inlet pipe should be visible and above liquid level of tank.If liquid level is above inlet pipe your laterals have failed and need replaced.If liquid level is below inlet pipe your sewer pipe going to tank needs cleaned again.Septic tank should be cleaned out every 5 years if it is properly sized.Most are too small and need cleaned out more often

sounds like the drain from your toilet is broken underground as you say roots were withdrawn from it. if this is determined i suggest having it dug out and replaced with a cast iron one to prevent it happening again.

Sounds like your septic tank is full. You may have to have it pumped out.
