Ans.1.Nope guinea pigs don't bite a lot but it depends one of my female guinea pigs bites a lot but my other one doesn't bite at all.
Ans.2. their cage doesn't have to be that big
just a Standard cage size,
for 1 guinea pig it should be about 7 sq ft, but for 2 or 3 guinea pigs it should be 13 sq ft or at least 10 1/2 sq ft.
Ans.3.Their activity level also depends,
some guinea pigs are really active and love to run while others are lazy and like to lie
around doing nothing but eat and sleep.
Ans.4.normally Guinea pigs on average Life span is 4 - 8 years but they can live up to 9 years
depending on how well they are looked after.
You should also probably get 2 guinea pigs as they are a social, herd animal,
and do better in groups. so a pair of guinea pigs is a better option than just one.
3 of the common mistakes.
#1 Cage Size Too Small
This is the most common problems (see answer 1)
#1 Male Guinea Pigs will sometimes Fight
It depends on the personalities of the guinea pigs many males live together in pairs or trios and are quite happy with no fights and some sows will not get along and cannot be housed together It all depends on the individual guinea pigs.
#3 Not Keeping Nails Trimmed
This is a common problem. Guinea pig nails need to be trimmed about once every 4-6 weeks. They can curl and grow back into the pad causing pain and infections. It's very easy to do on your own.
Hope this helped :)

Hi :)
you are definitely ready for a guinea pig if you have had small pets before.
Guinea pigs do not bite, unless you stick your finger in their mouth! :)
well actually, some do as a habit.
Don't worry though, most don't bite.
Well, you could make a c&c cage that is 2x4(or bigger),that is pretty much the minimum size,
or you could go to a pet shop and look for a cage that is made for guinea pigs.
I think that mice are more active than guinea pigs, but I don't really know.
They just walk around the place and rest.
They can not have spinning wheels.
The oldest guinea pig in the world lived for 14 years, 10.5 months.
I think it depends on how well you look after them.
They live about 4-8 years.
Most likely 5.
guinea pigs are very easy to look after and you will enjoy having them. :)
good luck :)

No, they do not bite intentionally if they're raised correctly. You have to let them warm up to you usually. Their cages need to be pretty big. Much much bigger than hamster/gerbil cages. They need room to run around and room for an igloo or other "house" like structure, plus some toys (chew sticks and the balls with bells in them that cats play with are great) a food bowl, hay, water, and veggies. They do like to play. Mine especially did. I got him from the shelter and he had one big personality. He loved the country song "Why Don't We Just Dance". He would whistle and hop when it came on. He'd whistle at me, play with my cat and my dog, had long hair, loved to cuddle and he would pick up his ball in his teeth and bob it up and down to hear it jingle. They do need to eat hay, and they do need veggies. I fed mine green and red bell peppers, baby tomatoes, orange slices, carrots, and occasionally I would give him an apple slice. Fruit is high in sugar though, so you can't give them too much fruit. They do need a source of vitamin C, so orange slices are great, or you can buy treats with it. They also need chew treats to trim their teeth. Like rabbits, they don't stop growing. You can buy chew sticks and other chew treats at pet stores for them. Do NOT buy them a running wheel. That is bad for their little backs. When you buy bedding, no cedar or pine. It causes lung problems. Also clean the cage completely at least once a week or every week and a half. That can also cause lung problems. They live a few years, all depends on the pig and how well you take care of him/her. Good luck.

they only bite when you hurt them and their cage has to be as big as you can get it mine is 5'6x5'8 and it is made out of the palypen's from petsmart I got 4 of them and the level of activity it all depend's on how old they are and they live between 4 to 8 yrs but they can live longer it all depend's on how healthy they are. You have to give them lot's of attenetion and food and hay.. and make sure that their cage is clean and give them their fruit's and veggie's. You can look at the website www.guineapigmanuel.com they will help.

Guinea pigs are really sweet. Mine usually lived 3-4 years. They are very active. They love to eat and whistle! They will whistle when they see you and when they want you to feed them. Mine never bit me. Cage should be 7.5 sq ft for one or two guinea pigs. Preferably even bigger.
