Broadband Provider advice?

Ok here's the deal, i need Home Broadband access within 6 Days (long story) and am looking for a provider of JUST Broadband (it's the only service i need / want to have to pay for), i ask you the users of the WWW, Which one do you recommend?

PS: This is a United Kingdom question, so providers in other countries will not be counted

(just to be clear ; )

Update:

PPS: Please Note I'm asking for providers OTHER THAN Virgin Media

(even longer story ; )

You will not just get broadband. You will have a phone line and a phone number as well.

Also you will NOT get it within 6 days either. That can take between 10 and 14 days.

Obviously you saying not Virgin means then your leaving them.

If your leaving for bad debts or whatever, then Virgin will not release your

MAC number when the new ISP asks for it till the debt is paid.

Other than that this is what is about.

To have broadband you need two things, a phone line and a provider as the broadband comes over the phoneline, so if you dont have the line you wont be getting this in 6 days lead time for BT is around 10 days normally unless they have earlier capacity.

As for provider, i am assuming you fell out with virgin, my suggestion is sky unlimited you dont have to be a customer, it is still amongst the best in the UK and they dont do enforcing too many rules (other than the excessive ones like abuse etc).

i highly doubt you will get a landline and/or broadband in 6 days if you broaden this to 14 it can be done easily.

The problem is you usually need a phone line to get the broadband, so if you have a phone line you need a line rental. The only alternatives are cable, but you say you don't want virgin, or mobile broadband, which is a lot slower. Have a look at http://www.broadbandchoices.co.uk/partner-1523~ps~... .

    Otherwise try talktalk or plusnet.

Is dependent what you imply through effective - consumer service or pace of connection etc. If you want pace, then cable would supply more vs cell line. You can additionally use probably the most many on-line velocity checkers eg bt's internet site to find out what speed you would presently get making use of your mobile line.

I would stay away from Talk Talk who also own AOL as they were voted worst company and worst ISP in UK for 2 years running.

    Plusnet are a good choice.

Ask your friends or neighbors what they use. The best in one area may be absolute garbage in another area.
