A little confused on my homework.
"Which of the following equations are linear? If an equation is not linear, give the reason."
2 + 3pq = -9
and
3x - 4 = y
Having trouble understanding how to solve.

3x - 4 = y is linear
2 + 3pq = -9 is not linear because two variables are multiplied by each other.

the second one is a linear equation.
the first one is not a linear equation because there are two variables on side of the equal sign.
