Gay people are humans and all humans deserve equal rights.
Because gay people are here, they are living, working, having families, etc. like everyone else. They deserve the same protections under the law that any other person in the same country has. Not giving them marriage won't make them go away or stop having families. It will just make it harder on them, not offer them or their families legal protections.
Because as a society we should encourage stable, monogamous relationships. When people have someone they love in their lives they are happier, if one person loses their job it is easier to live on two incomes (and the state shells out less for unemployment and welfare), those kinds of relationships have been shown in research to promote healthier lives, regardless of gender. Why would society want to discourage this to an entire segment of people?

As an avowed gay female I could probably come up with more than three, but I'll follow your suggestion.
I'm human, female, and yes my gender preference is clear though not blatantly or flamboyantly obvious.
I doubt the US constitution states anything about gender, though there are no less than 6 references in the bible about same gender involvement as being a sin. The problem as I see it is mixing church and state is like trying to blend oil and water. I'm quite spiritual, and suspect at some point I will be forgiven and accepted, if not by man, through my life, then after I die.
Beyond that, in your essay you might define, or attempt to clarify bias, and how it applies through narrow minded thinking as it also regards color, origin, religious or political feelings, etc. some of which we are born into with no choice.
Finally Many, or most if not all in the gay community have the same dreams, plans, goals, interests, passions, forms of expression as any might in the straight community.

gay rights are human rights, we as gay people should be dealt with both. there turned right into a time that blacks or women persons might want to no longer vote. We referred to it as incorrect and adjusted it, and those who disagree will look undesirable via the lens of time. There aren't any logical the reason why myself, as a lesbian, could no longer have a similar rights as my instantly sister. To me it really is the really common sense i favor.
