Should I change my domain name?

I've been building up my Crossword Solver website for about five months now. I couldn't get a nice, clean domain name without including a whole bunch of hyphens so I decided to get trendy, drop the vowels and go for crsswrd.com.

Now despite hits (c. 1000 / day) on very specific search terms (like household linen 10 letters) I'm not getting ANY on my preferred keywords "crossword solver".

Should I change the domain name, so that I pick up a bit of free organic search, or should I just stick with the domain name and hope that my (so far very poor attempts) at gaining a few back links eventually pays off?

Domain name is very important as it has great impact on your visitors. though search engines are less bothered about domain name these days but still a catchy and cool domain name is very important for branding your website.

But I wouldn’t suggest you to change the domain name if you are not sure how to do it correctly and your site is ranking well in search engines and already a very established website.

Even if you do change your domain name then do it correctly using htaccess file and google webmaster tool to maintain the same ranking. Read in Google and ask in Google support forum to know or understand the correct steps to change your domain name without hurting your SERP, PR or Rank. Google Support Forum is a great place to understand how to change the domain name properly.

And if you want to find a decent domain name you can try namestall.com they are providing some very advanced domain name generator and suggestions tool.

And I am quite sure if you spend some time with any of their domain tools you will end up with some great domain names for your website.

Changing the domain name is way to much hassle to try to rank in Google or other search engines - many spammers do this and that is why Google has de-ranked such websites that try to do this.

Unfortunately it is not easy to rank on page one anymore and get traffic - but I have a few approaches that can get people to your site:

    - Twitter: download tweetdeck (its free) and search for people looking for the terms "crossword solver" or people tweeting about just finishing one - and send them a nice friendly tweet about your website with a link.

    - Forums: participate in forums where people would most likely talk about this (make sure not to be spammy, because everyone hates a spammer in forums) and share your link.

Thats the best I can offer - wish you the best..
