If you can demonstrate that the demand your employer is placing on you would create an undue burden you can.
I had a job where my employer didn't like me and changed me to the weekend shift knowing that I would not be able to do it because of child care limitations in my community.
The key is, I would make them fire you. If you just quit, they might have more of an issue. If you say you are willing to work and they are just refusing to give you a reasonable chance by creating an unworkable situation for you, then I think you have a good case. In other words, if you work in L.A., and they say you now have to work in Salt Lake City, your situation might not allow you to move. You might own a home you are underwater in and can't sell for instance.
Even if you don't qualify now, there would most likely be a penalty period and you would be able to collect it after the penalty period passes as long as you can prove you have been looking for work in the meantime.
Document all the places you apply for work in the meantime.
Good luck, and I hope you find a good job!

U have to fight for your job . Because jobs are getting hard to find.... Talk to your boss and let him know your issues see if you can work something out..... You do not want to be on unemployment .... They give you chump change and make people lazy.. Plus if you use all your unemployment now it will run out and u wont have any if u really need it,,,,, unemployment shoulf b a last resort.... I was making $870 net a week and when i got laid off i received the maximum alloed by unemployment which is a mesly $347..... They give u less than half your check

Most likely yes. This represents a significant material change in your work. Remember to tell that to unemployment.
