Yahoo Questions says it is going to do some maintenance work Friday night. Will they fix the spell checker?

For a long time, Yahoo Answers' spell checker keeps telling people that every word they type is misspelled. Will their maintenance work tomorrow night fix this malfunction? Place your bets.

    Unlikely. Y!A Maintenance work isn't usually (primarily) about working on broken features or new features; it's more about infrastructure and hardware. It's is a big operation distributed across a lot of servers, and they need to take make it unavailable now and then to juggle and upgrade those servers. They don't seem to have figured out how to run Y!A almost seamlessly --- the way Google runs its even bigger operations.

    I'm from Vegas.

    Local odds are over 10,000 to 1 against. That's based on the fact that a spell check program change doesn't take over a few seconds to implement.

    I doubt it, since fixing that does not seem to be a priority.
