Are there any websites to classify animals?
I have to do a homework assignment and finish classifying a few animals. Our teacher said to look it up online, but it's really difficult to find the exact answers and I don't want them to be incorrect. Are there any websites that have a list of animals and their classification, or where you can search the classification of animals? I need to know the Kingdom(obviously, animalia) Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species of three different animals and I need to find another two animals and classify them.
Oh boy...
The animals I have to finish:
Springtail:Kingdom-Animalia
Phylum-Arthropoda
Class-Insecta
Order-
Family-
Genus-
Species-
Thoroughbred horse:Kingdom-Animalia
Phylum-Vertebrata
Class-Mammalia
Order-Perissodactyla
Family-Equidae
Genus-
Species-
Variegated Toad(I found all the answers, but not quite sure if they're right):Kingdom-Animalia
Phylum-Vertebrata
Class-Amphibia
Order-Anura
Family-Bufonidae
Genus-Bufo
Species-Variegatus
I don't know the species of the Springtail. That was the only information I got for it.

In most cases, just go to wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page, type the animal into the search bar and click. The taxonomic profile (Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species) often comes up under a photo of the animal on the right...
...or Click the ADDITIONAL DETAILS button, then EDIT and add all the species you require, I will answer them all.
EDIT - I will not put Kingdom as you know they are all Animalia...
1. Springtail - if you want a complete profile, you MUST name an actual species. There are MANY springtail species, with varying profiles.
*** As you do not know the species, I will pick one - water springtail
Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Entognatha (no longer considered insects so the class is NOT Insecta)
Order: Collembola
Family: Poduridae
Genus: Podura
Species: Podura aquatica http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podura_aquatica
2. Thoroughbred racehorse - it is a domestic horse, they all come under the same species.
Phylum: Chordata (NOT Vertebrata, that is a subphylum)
Class: Mammalia
Order: Perissodactyla
Family: Equidae
Genus: Equus
Species: Equus ferus
Subspecies: Equus ferus caballus http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domestic_horse
3. Variegated Toad (or Eden Harbour Toad)
Phylum: Chordata (NOT Vertebrata, that is a subphylum)
Class: Amphibia
Order: Anura
Family: Bufonidae
Genus: Bufo
Species: Bufo variegatus (note; the species name is ALWAYS a 2 part name and the specific name variegatus is NOT capitalised) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bufo_variegatus
SO - there they are. You have to pick 2 animals yourself and detail the profiles. You should be ok with this, just follow what I have done here.

If you look up any species by common name, and then select the Wikipedia site, there will be a box on the right side of the page with the classification. For example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barn_Owl
