How large could I print this image before the quality deteriorates?
It's a small image from the web, only 700x900 and 72 DPI. It's something drawn with pastels and is smooth. I can't share the image here.
I want to take this picture to a printing shop, but before I shell out and get them to make one, do you think I could get it anywhere near movie poster size (27" x 40")? or if not, what size do you think would be pushing it?

It may not be exact but this guide may help you estimate.

The best in that table is Photo quality.

The largest you could probably print it out at without much image deterioration would be 9.3"x12". The problem is mainly the 72DPI resolution, which means it will only look good if you print it out as a small image up to 9.3x12". Image quality will deteriorate from there.
