Anyone else fed up with the amount of American questions on UK & Ireland questions only site?

It' becoming really annoying having to go through loads of American questions on this site before getting to one about the UK. Maybe the mods on the site should look at adding UK politics in the browse categories for UK users which only loads on computers used in the UK, USA politics, for the Americans that only loads for those in the USA, etc.etc. and having a global politics category for the rest.

Update:

Zimbo97, this was sent from the UK a

& Ireland section, I never use anything else.

Update 2:

Foxes R Us, what's trolling about this question? If you check the site you'll find I hardly ever ask a question about anything, let alone Troll.

Update 3:

JOHN G, I've nothing against people from other countries giving a view on another country as it's probably useful to get an understanding of how others abroad feel about someone like Obama for instance.

Update 4:

Jasin, we in the UK have a choice of picking UK & Ireland questions from a little drop down list, I'm assuming the Americans have the same, but obviously don't know. Maybe someone from America could confirm whether this is the case or not.

    Totally agree.

Its more of a problem when asking Qs as americans just pile in w vitriol on any little thing, incapable of understanding we have a party called the Liberal Democrats, even when its specified (uk) in the title and has clegg et al mentioned in details.

SO tiresome to have to read thru their wankrants.

And since lots of non american users inadvertantly end up asking Qs on the american site, using the uk restriction option doesnt work.

I love politics but i rarely use the yahoo section~ im so put off by all the american users. Even lab v tory in the 80s lacked that level of ferocity.

Its been mentioned on the suggestions board-; yahoo does take notice sometimes, bugs etc get fixed- but they seem in no rush to act on this- http://suggestions.yahoo.com/detail/?prop=answers&...

If you have contacts, maybe ask them to vote & comment. Itd be useful to have a country option, anyway, for many sections- law etc. its easy for french etc people to get french only advice- they simply ask In french!!! Other english speaking politics answerers have to wade through annoying teaparty nutters- i frankly, rarely bother. Its like an EDL board- so annoyingly offensive its just tiresome

EDIT~ there are often politics Qs on the travel> uk section. Not always the most insightful/cything replies, But always worth a look. ive just enjoyed explaining why blair was not 'the best PM in history' and things are not as bad now as under maggie. And im a leftie, ha ha.

Source(s): EDIT~ ive just tried several times to get a uk only version of politics or any catagory. It just keeps going back to the home page for all questions anyway. So the link doesnt even work. It is annoying not to be able to have a filter choice- some sections have ridiculously intricate subsections- politics is far too wide.

There may be definitely so much to be carried out, even though I reward the trouble that has for this reason a long way been put in. My first quarrel is the 'high Contributor' badge, it is fairly effortless to acquire, and upon getting it, its a sense of 'What now?' it easily would not consider as prestigious as it must (on the grounds that we are then trapped in a sense of 'having' to maintain answering to preserve it there). There are such a large amount of humans who answer half the questions I do (after which vote for there own reply on several bills) and still have the equal badge, I think that when you earn prime contributor in a category, you should then be equipped to earn an additional badge, maybe a silver blue thinner badge (just like the staff badge) which hangs just below the orange TC badge pronouncing 'additional Contributor' or anything of the type however, this badge should be very difficult to attain and given to the top 10 great answerers within the class or a further standards that may maintain it prestigious, with no trouble considering that the 'prime Contributor' badge has misplaced its prestige and it will mean that the few individuals who have it genuinely have to work for it, and the 99% of men and women who shouldn't have it, continually consider like they have a goal, it also encourages the people you wish to have to proceed to make use of the website (people who are precise experts within the discipline) to take action. There also isnt very a lot in phrases of getting the 'high Spot' in a class, while you get probably the most high-quality answers in a class... Nothing happens, no congrats e mail or extra badge or animated yahoo solutions icon on your show photo - its form of a kick in the enamel considering that the effort wanted. There is not ample being performed to inspire experts to proceed answering. Additionally, there's a excellent chance that for someone to earn this new blue badge they clearly must be rather skilled within the subject of talents, this means that that any person who has the pleasure of getting there query answered by any person with it - feels much less reluctant to take there propose, as they need to be rather intelligent. My 2d trouble an trouble of so much controversy, its the fact that you could vote for your possess reply because the nice, not best this, but due to the fact that there's no I.P limit, you can make 10 separate bills (Its against the principles sure, however individuals continue to do it) and then be certain your reply is the satisfactory, how is it fair that a individual who writes 'lol' on an answer gets the nice answer, once I spent an hour writing an essay. At the least exchange it so you cant vote for you possess, and preferably, so its one vote per ip. Thirdly, one of the crucial categories are getting ridiculous, there are just a few which are BARELY used and some which are VERY used when you consider that the class covers solution to many things and is just too general (such because the rodents category) which wants splitting up, do away with these now not getting used, and increase those who need it (ie - break up the rodents category into hamsters, guinea pigs and many others - just about all the most popular pets are being thrown into one category, and no person in that class is a expert in more then one animal) ultimately, a first rate inspiration is a necessary small description/motive why you thumbs up/thumbs down an answer, presently thumbs up/down is so effortless to do, its meaningless. Yours truely, Tom Ayre - NO1, reply in Rodents.

Then why bother having a "UK and Ireland questions only" if all you see is Romney - Obama - throughout the whole list of questions. Is there not just a tiny little clue in the two names that says this may not be a UK/Ireland matter. ??? I agree it is very annoying.

You dont go to Sport - Boxing questions and see a list of questions on Hockey do ya - its the same point in my view.

Edit NICCOLO > How can you turn comments by adult, intelligent people into bigotry on their part.??

Its simple . Click to - UK IRELAND QUESTIONS ONLY what do you expect to see - the clue is in the title!! You certainly dont expect - MiTT Romney V Obama for every single question (almost) its an admin matter not a political crisis.

It can be quite amusing to be honest.

Reading the vitriolic questions and answers thrown around by some of the barely educated supporters of either US party can often be hilarious. Sometimes not for the reason the poster intended. Especially the accusations directed at the current incumbent President - and the fact that some of our colonial cousins genuinely believe it! I mean, I'm not the biggest fan of David Cameron but I doubt I could get anyone in the UK to accept he is a Stalinist-Puritan-Zulu out to destroy Magna Carta.

What people care about in US politics is comically baffling.

Honestly, it doesn't worry me. There will be a lot more US questions as we approach their presidential election, and we are around half way through this parliament so it's a fairly uneventful time in UK politics.

That said, I'm surprised they're not pushing through more unpopular policies - now would be a good time to do it if they want the electorate to have forgotten about them by the next general election.

I agree with you. This is Yahoo! UK & Ireland, the title is plain for all to see. In particular there are some very worrying answers to electrical questions from self-styled American experts

That's not americans posting in the UK section. That's yahoo not separating the US section from the UK section. Basically, yahoo just changes the url slightly and not the content placement or location. Your complaint should be with yahoo and not Americans.

I enjoy reading Q/A from the UK, sort of keeps me abreast of your progress on Mr. Frost's road not taken.

It works both ways, but it is annoying when people from either the UK or US say - ' I don't live in the country but.'...why bother to answer ??...
