Whose tweets appear on my timeline?

Are the tweets that show up on your timeline from the people you follow or from the people who follow you? Or both?

Update:

I just wanna know if someone who I follow but doesn't follow me back sees my tweets...

The "tweets" (twitter messages) which appear on your timeline are those written by people YOU FOLLOW.

Forcing you to view messages by those who follow you would be construed as a form of spam, I would think, since you did not request to see the info. (kind of like someone adding your email address manually to their mailing list, you know)

Your tweets are seen on the timeline of people who follow you. So obviously the tweets on your timeline are from people you follow.. Simple
