How much does being on a sychronized skating team cost? Just the cost for the year (with costumes and travel)?

I'd like to join this sycronized skating team called Wisconsin Edge but I have no clue how much it would cost and my mom said If I wanted to do it I had to find out how much the cost/per year is (We know you pay for hotels, costumes, travel, ice time, and the required stuff) So please help tell me I know its going to be really expensive!

FOR ANYONE WHO SAYS A LOT I ALREADY KNOW I WANT A PRICE NOT AN ANSWER THATS VAGUE

It depends on the level. Open juvenile last year at my club was $2400 (includes everything) and it was $800 at another club. As another answerer said, giving them a call is the only way to know for sure.

Then phone them!! No one can give you an exact figure unless they have skated for them. It still varies from skater to skater.

For each comp we need 3 brand new pairs of tights. Costumes can either be hired or custom made- either way it's still expensive. Each team does that differently. We also have tracksuits which must be worn, at higher levels we even need syncro blades.

You'll be skating more, so your boots are going to break down quicker. If you use syncro blades then you'll need a second pair of boots(I use an old pair)

Syncro is more of a commitment that singles. If you don't turn up it effects the whole team. Don't get into it if you can't garentee you can handle it.

Hotels and travel are actually the cheap parts. You can share hotel rooms and buses are normally hired. You can't share the cost of tights!

I've done everything over the years, syncro, pairs, free and now I'm try artistic. Syncro isn't the hardest for me, but it does require the most commitment. We only do syncro for 6 months a year, we compete 4 times and we're a small team.

The best thing to do is to call them and ask.

Prices for costumes and ice time depend on the level you will join. I am on the intermediate team. So my dress only cost $60. Practices are every sat for 45 minutes so its only 140 every 10weeks.

For the girls on the the advanced team they practice on sat. And sundays for like an hour at $36 per session. They also have a practice suit which is $150. Their costumes are about $250. Dont forget about competition fees, coaches fees and hotel rates!

Synchro is a wonderful sport and im sure youd enjoy it! But there are also many things to consider. So think things through with your mom to see if this is thr right thing for you.

HOW ON EARTH ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KNOW? We don't know the rink, the team, the coaches, the competition schedule - anything. If you're so desperate to know, call them and ask!

For the team I was asked to be on a couple years ago, there were four competitions that required flights, a $500.00 costume, and a $300.00 costume. The team fee was something like $500-600.

So call them and find out!
