What is this movie? I can't remember?

I don't know the characters or actors. The only things I remember is there is this guy who builds a laser(I think) that can see into the future. The company that hired him had his memory erased(was part of his contract with the company). However, he feels the the technology would be used for wrong reasons so he leaves himself clues to get his memory back. I think one of the clues was tiny letters he hid on stamps and then sent them to himself.
