No insurance, meds about to run out.?
Hello, I'm a type 1 diabetic. My wife who carried the insurance recently lost her job along with insurance. I can no longer do my job (CDL) due to the diabetes. We're both working part time but it's barely enough. I'm ex military and I was thinking of trying the VA for my meds, or can they even help?
Please, this is no joke and I'm just about in a desperate situation, I would appreciate any help or suggestions. Thank You.

If you are an eligible Vet you may get services - most Vets qualify but there are some that don't.
See link below for a "quick" eligibility check. VA meds carry a $8 co-pay for a 30 day supply; if you are a service connected Veteran awarded >/=50% disability the co-pay is waived, as it is if you fall below the means tested income level.
Go to your closest VA clinic or hospital, where they will be able to help you. Be sure to take a copy of your DD-214 and income supporting documents (pay stubs, tax returns, etc.) if you are not in the VA system yet. When you are assigned a primary provider, TAKE A LIST OF YOUR CURRENT MEDICATIONS.

Go to the VA.
For those reading this who are not members of the service, see my source to find your local community health center, which will treat you regardless of ability to pay.
