iPhone 5 or iPod Touch 5th Gen?
Hey, so thank you for taking an interest in my question. Please try and read through all of this, it is greatly appreciated.
So the thing is:
I recently sold my old iPod Touch 2nd Gen. that I have had for the past 4 years. I sold it for a reasonable amount of money because I knew that Apple would release more products this year (it would seem I was correct). I eagerly awaited the release of the new iPhone 5 since around April~May (I never even thought of buying the new iPod Touch 5th Gen until I saw it on 12 September). I have saved up about $600 NZD (Which is about $497.50 USD). And yes, I will be buying the phone by itself without a plan at $1049 NZD (About $869.70 USD). My parents said they would lend me the money to pay for it.
My dilemma is that I have come to realise that the features in the iPhone 5 aren't much of a step up from the iPhone 4S. Though I still very much LOVE the new design and A6 chip. Many of the features such as 4G LTE will be completely useless in New Zealand, seeing as though there won't be complete 4G access for everyone here until 2013. I will not be using 3G data on the iPhone either and will only use the internet and Siri when I'm at home with WiFi. I currently have an old Android phone which I am going to sell if I buy the iPhone. I also like the fact that it is both the iPod and Phone in one. In the past I would have to carry 2 devices.
The new iPod Touch looks amazing. It has sports the same 4-inch screen, Siri, exact same FaceTime HD camera, and a 5MP camera like the old iPhone 4. The iPod Touch is now more like the iPhone than ever before, but only at $459 NZD (About $380.60 USD). Which means that I can afford the iPod without having to borrow money from my parents.
The possibilities have come to this:
* Buy the iPhone 5 and slowly pay back my parents. But will be very satisfied, technology wise, for about 2~3 years.
* Buy the iPod Touch 5th Gen. and use it for 2 years and buy the new iPhone which will be released 2 years from now (I like to skip a generation of Apple products in between purchases). But I will not be as satisfied and would still be tempted to regret my purchase and buy the iPhone anyway. In the end, this option may be the most costly. (iPod + Android + Possible iPhone)
Thank you for reading all this!!! :) all answers are greatly appreciated and if you have any more options other than the 2 I listed, please share with me :)
AND DON'T RECOMMEND ANY ANDROID DEVICES!!! >.<
Please, no Windows phone or any other phones/tablets running on anything other than iOS. Sorry, this doesn't mean I am a crazy Apple fan boy, its just that I have used an Android for the past year and want and I prefer iOS over Android. Not saying Android is bad, of course :)

You should get the iPhone 5 because you said you would defiantly be satisfied compared to if you got the iPod where you might not be. Also it will only require you to carry around 1 device.

Honestly if it me were me I would just get the iPhone 5 and pay my parents back...especially if you think you may end up getting it anyway. If you really just don't want to have to borrow money from your parents, but still want a iPhone maybe you should consider getting the 4 or 4s until another one is released. With a contract the 4 is free and the 4s is $99USD. I know you said you will be buying it without a contract so I'm just listing that as a reference to how much cheaper they would be over the iPhone 5 since I don't know how much they would be full price where you live.

Just get the iphone 5 or even just the iphone 4, they are so much better than the ipods sure it might take some time to pay off your parents but theres nothing else your going to be buying for a while and you'll have an awesome iphone.

to be honest none
and it's not an android device
what you should get is the
lumia 900
amazing build quality it just feels high end and premium in your hand and it's very durable
it's made from a single piece of polycarbonate and it's also made in a way that for example if you buy the cyan version and you scratch or hit it the color after that would stay cyan
the screen is a 4.3" amoled screen with Nokia clear black display so that means colors and text look amazing on it and that also means you can easily see in direct sunlight so you won't have to higher the screen brightness
the camera is an 8 megapixle camera which takes amazing photos and videos
it has Carl Zeiss optics and it also has the Nokia added features like group shot, panorama shot and burst shot
what group shot allows you to do is to capture the perfect moment so for example if you are taking a photo of 2 people and you blink you will be able to rewind the time till when they were still smiling
the web browser is extremely good and very fast
the phone handles mail in a very good way
you've got a huge number of high quality apps and you also got the Nokia added free exclusive apps like Nokia drive,Nokia maps,Nokia city,Nokia lens,Nokia beta,Nokia music,Nokia creative studio, espn, espn radio,CNN,viber HD. and many more
battery life on the phone is very good and would easily get you through a full day of heavy use on a full charge
the whole os on the phone is amazing and it runs smooth and fast and it's also faster in everyday use than iOS and android
hope I helped :)
tell me if you decided to get it
