RHH: Do you like Jay Z?????

Aside from his technical skills, I always felt that he was amazing at sounding like a real person in his albums.

Bq: Most important trait for a rapper to have?

Bq2: Does mic messiah like nge?

Bq3: Do you like to read books?

Bq4: Favorite producer?

Update:

Nas on the other hand often feels more detatched

Update 2:

Yeah he always feels like he has so much personality

Update 3:

Lol is that real? And I agree on rebuild being lacking, but it want until halfway through that the original got crazy so we'll see.

Update 4:

Y is nooffense so mad that people like Jay Z?

And a lot of my reason for this is because he gets massively overrated

And Jay's biting is hardly extensive enough to lose him any places if you ask me.

Update 5:

Nas isn't at all always detached but he sometimes comes off that way imo.

Update 6:

At least in comparison to Jay. At his best he's just so personal

Nas detached?! That's an interesting statement. He's not detached from what's making the rounds in the news and wider issues in America - I think he's very informed and alert generally.

As for his general demeanor on records (when his agenda isn't necessarily gangster/mafioso or socio-political or whatnot) - the loftiness and audacity (he occasionally displays an over-zealous gravitation towards overblown, concept-dominated joints - as if he thinks he can tackle anything by virtue of his huge status and is incapable of erring (he often gets it right in his defence)) and constant justifications when it comes to his career's direction and personal decisions (now in the hands of Nas these themes are often riveting but anyway) do point to a little detachment - as if he's not quite sure how to separate ego and honesty at times (see Life Is Good).

    I do like Jay-Z!

50/50 He is a good lyricist when he wants to be but overall he's overrated but great.

BQ: Delivery. A rapper can say the most absolute stupid thing that makes no sense but if he delivers it like he means it then people will eat it up. Just look at 2 Chainz.

BQ2: Don't worry you have a new messiah now.

BQ3: Yes not as much as I used to but I still read.

BQ4: Right now? Probably Just Blaze his beats are underrated.

He's made some good music that I enjoy, certainly, though honestly I've never been a fan of his cadence, even if I recognize the influences it's had on a few artists (even if they're artists associated with him).

    BQ: Pretty auburn eyes.

BQ2: The original series is classic, even if it has far too much fan service for my taste. As far as the recent "Rebuild" films go, I'm not a fan, though I'd be lying if I said I won't watch YCNR.

BQ3: Yeah, but I haven't read as much as I'd like recently...

BQ4: It's generally between RZA & Muggs, but it could change soon...

Also, I've been waiting forever to bust this out and it seems like it's now or never.

Yeah, marketing gimmicks for NGE are crazy, but out of all of their ploys, that one is by far my favorite.

Yes, I also like his swagger and his "idgaf" attitude. He has great production on most of his albums.

    BQ: 1. Voice 2. Flow 3. Lyrics/Production

    BQ3: Sometimes

BQ4: RZA, Kanye, DJ Premier and Marley Marl. I can't choose

  • Only before his debut. Most of the 80s rappers felt like real people imo e.g. Big daddy kane, Biz Markie, Slick Rick, Salt-N-Pepa etc.

BQ: erm, not too sure, flow, voice, personality (rakim is the exception lol) and lyrics

    BQ3: no

    BQ4: DJ Premier

Yes, he's so over-hated on here and in general.

BQ: A good voice/flow and production

BQ3: Yeah, I haven't read a book in ages though

    BQ4: Pete Rock

I like his music a lot but can't listen to it for long periods of time for whatever reason. Also he is a huge cocky jerk like not necessarily in is music but just when he talks to people and stuff. I also don't feel like nas is detached.

I have been given an analogous reaction, all of them like "Carter 4 is amazing what are you listening to?" I stated, "the two actual looking Doubt, Blueprint, or life And cases 2." they like "Eww Jay sucks." i replace into like WTF!? And Jay Z, Nas, and Ice dice are the final greats alive that are actual as you will get, they have been all crime-appropriate earlier song and Jay do no longer lie, he replace into his own agency, and Beyonce. basically asserting lol
