    What are the seeds?

    Maybe they are old.

Maybe they need warmer temps to germinate.

Maybe they have a really long germination period, and you're impatient.

Maybe they're a variety that simply have a low percentage of viable seeds.

Maybe they dried out at a crucial time.

What were the seeds, and what did you do with them (medium, light, water, temperature)?

I have once bought a packet of rubbish seeds. But heres how to tell.

I do the jam jar test.

People often try to make a lawn from seed and fail. The best bit is they blame the seed - but it does happen.

Put a teaspoon of water in the jar, sprinkle some seed into the jar, put the lid back on.

Keep in the shade for a few days, or whatever, and you should see the seed germinate.

How many days? - depends on the seed!

But it always works as a timer for the real ones in the garden.

If nothing germinates - you have rubbishy old seeds.
