Has Yahoo/Answers eliminated the ability to make our own avatars?

I wanted to change my Yahoo avatar & tried to go to the page where they had all the choices (hair, clothes, backgrounds, etc.) and it's all gone! It was replaced with choosing my own picture, or choosing one of their supplied background pictures. HOW RUDE! I liked choosing seasonal avatars, dressing up my model in various kinds of clothes & hair styles. Why has this feature been removed? And how do we get it back? <*)))><

Update:

What do I click on to get me to where I can edit my avatar? Thanks for the help so far. <*)))><

Update 2:

When I click on edit, a box pops up where I only have two choices...to either add a photo or add one of their backgrounds. There are no other choices for me to go to the avatar place to edit my avatar. <*)))><

<EDIT:> You can't go and EDIT your avatar through the "Edit My Preferences" link. You can only SELECT an avatar there. To CHANGE your avatar, you have to go directly to the avatar site itself, which is linked above in my answer and in other others here. I don't think we ever had the ability to edit our avatars anyplace but on the actual avatar site, but if we did, that may have been removed now. So you need to bookmark the avatar site for future changes.

Avatar problems are an almost constant problem on YA. Every time Yahoo updates the system software, the avatar problems get fixed, but those fixes usually last only about six weeks to two months, sometimes longer, then more and more glitches start poppiong up until eventually you can't change your avatar until the next system update fixes the glitches again. Yahoo is currently updating the entire system, but avatar problems are not high on the priority list of things to fix.
