Why is my video plating in fast motion in movie maker?

I have my camcorder plugged into my computer and the movies have been directly downloaded to Moviemaker (on the mac) but every time I play it the movie is in fast motion but the sound is normal....so everything is out of focus and looks odd...

What should I do??

Update:

I mean IMOVIE. its uploading straight to IMOVIE on the mac

    Your video files are not compatible with your editing program. Movie maker is a windows program.

    try reducing the speed of video shots.
