I would say that you should consider renewing up the IP address and resetting the connection.. Maybe, the connection may cause this problem.

In this case, the IP (your Public address) is not related to the mail issues.

For that, you need to open T'bird, and along the top row (Toolbar) > Edit> Account settings: on the bottom left column tick "Account actions"> Add mail account> in this new window, you'll need to put your g-mail account info into the correct slots> continue with further prompts from there.

I can't follow along as I don't use g-mail, but the idea is you want to either create a new account with your changes to g-mail (then delete the old account); or, (if you can) 'Edit' your old account to reflect the new passcode.

Note that you'll also want to adjust the settings (maybe?) to fetch this g-mail account automatic (log-in and so on) to suit your needs.

Hope this can get you along to completion...I can't follow up fully to show you more.

"Save" mail settings are in "Account settings"> Copies and folders; perhaps sprinkled in other areas.

If my junk doesn't help, the official T'bird website should be able to help more.

    Good luck.
