Pain in left hand side of chest under breast, is this serious?
I'm 18 years old and female, I have experienced a pain in the left side of my chest under the breast area which I feel as though is where the heart is yet I'm probably wrong- I have had these pains in that same area for most of my life. I only ever used to get them very rarely however more frequently lately and over this past week, I've had the pain at least once every day.
The pain seems to come when I laugh quite a lot, and indraw breath sharply- to the point where the pain makes me worried so I dare not breath deeply. The pain makes me gasp it is quite painful. The reason I'm worried is due to the location of the pain.
I'm just curious as to what it may be and if it is serious? It NEVER hurts when I exercise only when I laugh or draw breath deeply. Sometimes I feel I NEED to draw a deep breath to be able to breathe.
Does anyone have any idea what this may be? Thanks in advance.
I have never smoked in my life and I have not been checked for asthma.

Due to the nature of the pain, you should get it checked out ASAP as you have to be careful with chest pain, but under most circumstances it is down to something less serious.
Do you get acid reflux? You can get chest pains from that. You mention your breathing, do you smoke, or have you been checked for asthma? If not you should get that checked out.

Do you see lumps? Des it become red ? If yes, then it could be a cyst that is forming abscess. Eiither case, take warm water. Dip a cotton cloth and keep it in the area for 10 min. Remember the cloth needs to be warm. Do it twice a day and for atleast one week. If the pain does not reduce or vanish, see a doctor.
