What is the best way to integrate a new hen into a flock of two?

I have had chickens for three years. One has just died but we want another. How should we best put a new hen in with our two three year old hens?

The new hen should be an adult. I would take the chickens out of their coop, run and whatever and put the new hen in that space for two days. she will become accustomed to it and think it is her house. Return the chickens and they may feel she is the owner and not fight as much. however hey will test the pecking order. If they fight too much they need more space so they can avoid each other.
