Lost defensive driving records? Can this be dismissed?
In January 2012, I was issued a speeding ticket. I was ordered to take defensive driving and paid the associated fees. I completed the defensive driving, online, and was issued 2 certificates of completion (1 court copy, 1 insurance copy) that have the dates of completion on them. I mailed off the court copy to the municipal court along with my driving record. I still have the insurance copy on hand.
I received a notice of a court date, today, for failure to complete/submit my proof of completing a defensive driving court and not submitting the driving record. Because I mailed it can this be dismissed? Especially since I have an insurance copy that can prove I completed the defensive driving in time?
I'm sure they get this excuse all of the time but since I have the proof of completion is there any chance? To be safe, should I get a new copy of the driving record?
I didn't think to make copies and have "proof" that I sent it aside from keeping the insurance copy on hand.
The courts have apparently not received my defensive driving or my driving record so I doubt they have copies...
Should have, would have, could have. The point is that I didn't. I need answers, not chastising.

You should have hand-delivered the documents or sent them with delivery confirmation so you can prove the letter was received by the court. You have to be able to prove you mailed it, they aren't going to take your word for it. As you said "I'm sure they get this excuse all the time".

in case you wher fined deliver an xtra 2$ on your courtroom fee they'll deliver you a examine for 2$ dont funds it throw it away they are able to no longer positioned it on your checklist untill all money transactions are finished.
