A couple questions concerning Valakut + Prismatic Omen...(MTG)?
Since Valakut was unbanned in Modern, I had a couple questions about the interactions with the card Prismatic Omen, which says, "All lands you control are all basic land types in addition to its other types." So, then, here are a few scenarios in which I am unsure of what happens....
1. I have a Valakut, Prismatic Omen and four other lands in play. I play another Valakut. I know that this triggers the Valakut already in play, but does the Valakut I just played trigger ITSELF for three damage, as it itself is a mountain entering play?
2. I have a Valakut, Prismatic Omen and five other lands in play. I cast Scapeshift, sacrificing my four non-Valakut lands and searching for three more Valakuts and two Mountain to put into play. Since they enter simultaneously, do they a) each trigger Valakut for fifteen total damage, b) only one triggers Valakut as the "sixth" land to enter play, or c) all four Valakuts trigger five separate times for sixty damage?
3. I have a Prismatic Omen in play and six basic lands. I cast a Primeval Titan and search for two Valakuts. Do they a) Not trigger at all, since they weren't themselves in play yet as they entered the battlefield, b) Trigger separately for six damage, or c) Each triggers for their own entry as well as the entry of the other Valakut, equaling 12 damage?
Sorry if it sounds confusing, but I tried my best. It seems like a pretty complex interaction.

I totally get your question I know it is hard to phrase it.
1. It is a mountain entering the battle field but it needs to see 5 "other" mountains so it does not proc itself just yet because you did not have 5 lands already in play. If you have 5 lands it play this would resolve for 3 damage.
2. Your scapeshift scenario suffers from the same problem. The Valkuts do not count themselves when they come in to play because it says "other" but the Valkuts are mountains in addition to their regular types. So lets change it a little bit. You have 6 lands and a prismatic omen now it works. You sac 4 lands to bring in 4 Valkuts. They all see each other come in to play and they all meet the requirement of having 5 other mountains in play. So all of them will trigger as if all of them are in play. If this were to happen on the Xbox you would be waiting forever for all of the triggers to resolve. It does not total up to 60 damage however it would be 48 points of damage(3*4*4).
3. In this scenario you don't have any trouble with the "other" both lands see each other come in to play. Both count the number of "other" mountains and both are satisfied so you get two triggers off of each of them for a total of 12 damage.
Source(s): My Boros deck lost a round to a deck based on this land and I called a judge over. I had all of these scenarios explained to me quite thoroughly in a sanctioned tournament environment. Feel free to e-mail me on this one I know it is a cumbersome way of thinking for many people.
