Cant drink anymore, should i smoke weed?

I recently was in an accident that nearly took my life and i was drunk out of my mind, like to the point where i was just a mindless zombie, which is the part of the reason i got in the accident. Its been a few months and im getting ready to slowly start going back out. i used to just drink to have fun, but i began drinking to the point of blackouts and becoming unaware what i was even doing and total confusion. my family and friends especially said they will kill me/beat my *** if they catch me drinking again and even though bad luck was a major factor, id feel bad ever drinking again after what it did to me and the peoplee around me. but being injured and having my life changed forever, and not being the same or being the same happy kid has f*cked with my head a lot and i always have thoughts and **** on my mind. I had tried weed a decent number of times before and its iight, wasnt really my thing but people always just said oh you never smoked enough times to really get high or really get into it. i was maybe thinking should i start doin it more? youre more in control of yourself when youre high but i sorta find it scummy and i do not wanna be known as a pothead. what do you think?

WOW, I am really disapointed with many of the comments here. You know, that experience of your car accident should serve as a warning to you. You stooped down a level so low with alcohol that you were addicted beyond belief and could not control yourself. That was not just "part of the reason [you] got in the accident" and "bad luck" was not the major factor. It was you being drunk that was the main reason and the major factor. Now, after that, why would you want to become potentially addicted and dependent on weed to function? Think about those you hurt in that accident and your family. Think about yourself. Yes, weed is a 'safe drug' to some extent in that people don't die due to overdoses, but it's still very addictive, dulls your brain, is linked to causing brain damage in recent studies, and it's effects are still not completely known. Hell, in ten years they may say "weed causes brain tumors." Why risk it for the sake of risking it? If your clean now, don't get caught up in that mess just to do it. It's not worth it, and I have seen people who become addicted, and as my 7th grade Latin teacher said, "Any smoke, from weed or cigarettes or whatever, that you smoke will hurt your lung tissue and potentially cause lung cancer. You never see the old men who smoked their whole lives say, 'Damn, I wish I started smoking sooner.'" No, you see them with holes in their necks to aid in breathing with croaky voices and the smell of smoke radiating from their skin as they await the test results for lung cancer. Why would you want this?

If you are set on smoking weed, then learn to limit yourself. Dont' smoke every day and become so addicted to it. You've tried it, and that should be enough. I'd suggest finding other hobbies, and use this as a learning experience for your future.

Obviously, people who smoke weed are biased towards it and people who don't are biased against it, but stand back and look at the overall pros and cons. Yes, it makes you feel good, but is it worth the dependency? The addiction? The brain damage? The unknown negative effects on your body? The cost? The time wasted away? The dullness found in many pot-smokers who think they have intellectual conversations because almost everything seems intellectual to them?

Think about it; It's know worth it. It's just not.

If you have posted this questions saying: "Can't smoke weed anymore, should i drink alcohol?" You'd recieve the same response of "do it, do it!" And if someone like myself had posted, "no, you could get into an accident while drunk......"

What would you have chosen? What will you choose now?

Pot is the least harmful drug and something I enjoy to smoke but to me it sounds like you need something else in your life rather than drugs and alcohol. Clearly you have some issues in your life that you need to sort out if you were drinking that heavily. Try exercising and doing stimulating things that don't involve drugs.

Of all drugs available it's the best with the least damage.

No one has ever died from an overdose.

smokin weed is ok and a good pain reliever, but what it sounds like is that you need something better in your life that doesn't include drugs or alcohol. try finding a good church and asking JESUS into your like and you all thing will start to focus.
