How does the mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria evade further destruction once engulfed by a phagocyte?

The mycobacterium tuberculosis can be engulfed by a phagocyte, start being broken down, but then start evading further destruction. How does it do this?

    It prevents the fusion of the phagosome and with a lysosome (vesicle containing digestive enzymes). Specifically it blocks the bridging molecule EEA1. Therefore allowing it to grow inside macrophage. Activation of CD4+ T cells needed to enhance phagocytic activity of macrophages.
