well she cant get a rape kit since it was so long ago. my best advice is to try to get someone else like his ex girlfriend or maybe his sister to come out and tell people if he did something to them, if there was no one at all or no one willing to come out then it is just your friends word against his and it might throw out the case or drag it out longer. Have your friend get a really good lawyer, but think about the factors. would you want ur friend to have to see her abuser everyday in court. good LUCKK!!

Depends on the state. A year isn't the long, I doubt any state would have a 1 year limit or less, given that most rape victims are afraid to press charges against those that assault them.

Yes she should! Especially since she actually knew him, it will be a lot easier for the police to locate him. Rape is NEVER okay, and she shouldn't have to live with that pain, she needs closure. Consult authorities immediately! And ADork, being "horny as ****," is never a good excuse to assaut someone! Rape is rape!

The statute of limitation is longer than a year, but it'll be harder to prove. If she has proof other than her word it would help.
Look into getting her counseling. Sometimes justice isn't enough, and despite how much you care about her, you won't be able to fix her by yourself.
Good luck to you both!

Tell her to talk to the police and find out what the statute of limitations is in your area.
