The best approach as fans to get Roger Goodell fired?
I have noticed that I have been watching football less since he has become the commissioner, because he has handicaped the defensive players with all his new hitting rules. But after the Packers game I realize that I'm no longer watching the NFL that I grew up on. Even without the new officials, we got Drew Brees winning the single season yards record because of the new rules. Nobody even talks about him in the same breath as one of the greatest QBs of all time. What the hell has happened? How do we get a guy that isn't trying to just make as much money as possible and realizes that defense is as important as the offense?
But now, when I see what he has done with the refs, I can't imagine the integrity of the game getting better. We have to get him out while we still can, and put a former pro in as commisioner, not a business man.

Goodell is nothing but a scapegoat, the NFL owners have you completely fooled. They are his bosses, THEY are the reason the referees are locked out.

I'm seriously considering boycotting the NFL until the real refs come back. The coaches and players should too. If they aren't playing, the NFL isn't making money and they'll have no choice but to just pay the refs

You don't get it. Goodell is just a glorified errand boy for the owners. The owners are the ones who decided to lock out the refs. Goodell is just following orders. Nothing will change if you fire him.
