How can I give my baby medicine without her spitting it out?

My five month old is teething and I have infants acetaminophen to give her but she always spits it out. I've tried leaning her back but she still spits it out.

Any time I've had to give meds, I just make a 2oz bottle and add the medicine. If it is time for your daughter to eat, it makes it much easier. After she has finished, she can continue with breastmilk or more formula (depending on how you feed her normally)

If he's screaming and spitting it out then he either doesn't like the taste of the medicine or he's had a traumatic time being given it. I don't know what method you are using but if you use a syringe then squirt the medicine into his cheek, not directly on the tongue as this could make him swallow too much or even choke. If you use a medicine spoon be sure the baby is in a sitting position.

You can buy in pharmacy plastic syringe (without a needle) and give medicine through it. That way you can put the syringe closer to her throat and slowly push out the medicine directly to the throat, so she will not be able to spit it out (but do it slowly, so that she doesn't choke on it-and maybe throw it out).

My mother has this really effective method of getting my baby cousin to swallow his medicine. Whenever she gave him his medicine on a spoon and put it in his mouth, he would cry and the medicine would leak out of his mouth. My mom's method: As soon as she put the spoon of medicine in his mouth, she would quickly blow in his face (lightly of course), this caused him to swallow his meds. The blow distracted him and he automatically swallowed the meds. It worked every time. Good luck! :-)

My babies did this too, you can buy it in powder form that you rub on their gums and also in tablet form that disolves on the tongue.
