How young is too young to launch a singing career?

I'm thinking of uploading a song I wrote onto i tunes and i have all the details and stuff worked out, so don't bother about that. But I was thinking, Am i too young? It's just one song, I thought it would be fun. I am 13, are there are any younger artists who have done something similar to this?

Yes Justin would count. Long before him was Gayla Peavy and the woman known in country music as "Little Miss Dynamite," Brenda Lee. Also both Donny Osmond and Micheal Jackson started before they were thirteen. However understand that the music industry is a cold place, and uses, then spits out artists after they have gotten what they can from them. Examples are NSYNK, Back Street Boys, The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus. That's just a small amount of who has been at the top, then gone within a few years.

Of course you're not too young! There's actually a really great artist who went through America's Got Talent - Anna Graceman, she's not very old and started singing quite young. I think she may be around the same age as you now, but she was about 11 when she went on AGT.

Just a little advice - if you're going to try selling your song, then make sure you're have or can get hold of good recording equipment - nobody likes hearing bad quality audio that is fuzzy or hard to hear! And I reccomend uploading your song to YouTube too, that way you'll have a better chance of your song being found and bought :)

So go for it! If you are looking to try starting a singing career, then make sure you invest in some good recording equipment :)

    1. You have to pay to put stuff on itunes etc. And being 13, i'm guessing you don't have much money. 2. Just put it on youtube or something for now - it's free and you can get some feedback.

    3. No matter how good/cool/awesome you think it is now, I can almost guarantee you'll be ridiculously embarrassed of it in a few years time :)

I'm pretty sure Justin Bieber counts.
