Blue Cichlid Rams are having health problems?
Hello I have 3 blue cichlid rams that are having health issues, I don't know what the problem is:
Symptoms: 1) not eating 2) water temp is good 3) water condition is clean 4) 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 0 nitrate, and ph is 6.7-7.0 5) The cichlids themselves turn to a dark brown and start to die off one at a time. Anyone can help, please let me know Thank you
temp is 75-80, There is no water issue, just that they are turning brown and dying or no reason, get fed daily, light is on daily but off at nights, ph is not a problem 40 gallon tank, aquaclear filter, and that's it. I have plants but not a lot, they don't last long, so I don't put many in

The brown color equals stress. They like their ph to be soft and low like 5.9-6.7. They also like their temperature high like 83-88 degrees Fahrenheit. Also do some research about it.

What temp? And are you sure on the nitrate? Test again. I suspect all your readings you report. What test kit are you using? What steps did you do on each test? And you are not adding the water from teh tests back into the tank, correct?
What filter? Planted tank? Other tankmates? Size?
They turn brown from stress, and whatever is stressing them is killing them.
