Pale ale is a beer which uses a warm fermentation and predominantly pale malt. It is one of the world's major beer styles.
It's an amber colored ale brewed with pale malts; similar to bitter but drier and lighter.
In some of the United States an ale is (by law) a brew of more than 4% alcohol by volume.

It is an old style of beer - originally from the UK - not the USA. Essentially it uses light-roasted malts and a top-fermening years (lagers use bottom-fermenting yeasts).
One of the oldest pale ales is Bass (also the Company with the world's oldest trademark - trademark number 1).
Sierra Nevada is a very new entrant into the field - although, considering that the USA had a period of around half a century following Prohibition when they made no good beer at all - I suppose it's an old-established beer by the standards of a country that didn't even exist when my town's civic hall was built.

Pale Ale is a lighter stronger, bitter tasting type of beer. The first Pale Ale ever brewed is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. It is brewed with warm fermentation and pale malt. There's IPA (India Pale Ale), American Pale Ales, English (Bitter) Pale Ale's, and Blondes.
They'll all taste a little bitter, but Blondes are less bitter and they have more carbonation and are fruitier.
Drink American Strong Ale, because it has more alcohol. (MEOW)
haha!
I love beer
