How old do you have to be to act mature?

I know everyone's different but what's the average age when kids finally get more mature? Does high school actually make kids less mature because I've noticed by different behaviours in kids during the summer and the school year. The reason I want to know is because I'm in 8th grade and there are a lot of group projects but I feel that I can't trust most kids because they'll just mess everything up.

Well I can tell you one thing.. They are not going to mature anytime soon.. They might possibly mature once they are in 11th and 12th grade when they are having to look for jobs after highschool, a house, college, student loans, ect.. They usualy dont mature untill they have a reason to.. I know.. it sucks. I became homeschooled my 10th year of school and realized how immature these kids are.. But what i suggest is that you show the other students you KNOW what your are doing, with no hessitation. Be confident in your work.

One thing you can do to help them mature, is to not do the things they do that you think is immature. maybe they will realize how stupid they are acting :) hopefuly.

Good luck with school, I hope all goes well. (im glad you think this way so young)

It all depends on the type of person they are. If they have a passion and want to succeed, they will be much more mature, probably earlier than other people. For some people, they will be "adult mature" when they are around thirteen or fourteen, but for others it won't happen until they are a lot older (seventeen to eighteen). Some of the kids in my grade are really immature, and those kids are the ones who don't pay attention in class and get bad grades on tests and stuff. But others are very serious about how well they do in school, get better grades, and overall, are more mature. :)
