Which colleges should I apply to?
I'm a senior in high school, and my guidance counselor hasn't been very helpful (whenever I suggest a college, he tells me it's a "great choice!" without any advice on whether or not I could actually get in.) My parents aren't great with this kind of stuff, so I decided to ask other people's opinions :)
SAT:
Writing 760
Reading 730
Math 690
Total: 2180
ACT
Reading 36
Writing 34
Science 31
Math 25
Total 32
GPA: 3.5 (bad grades freshman year.) I'm taking 5 AP classes this year, however. The rest have been honors classes. My school doesn't weight GPAs.
I am really not sure where I want to apply, but if anyone has a general idea of what types of schools I could get into, that would be great...? Also: I got a scholarship from taking the MCAs that told me I could go to UMASS for free. This would be great, because cost is a pretty big problem for me. Would I get into UMASS? I've heard it's getting harder and harder to get into, because more and more people want to go there.
Thank you for anyone who helps!! :)

You should apply to UMass. There is a good chance that you will be accepted. You have good test scores (except for your math ACT score), so you have many colleges to choose from.
Do you want to go to a large university? Do you prefer a public or private school? Do you want to stay close to home or would you prefer to go to a different part of the country? Would you prefer a small liberal arts college? Do you have any ideas about what you would like to study in college? Once you can answer questions like these, your counselor will be able to give you more help.
