Help! "Culture studies" or "Cultural studies"?

Hi, I'm from Indonesia. I am going to teach English phrases soon but I still do not understand which one is correct: Cultural studies or Culture studies? I googled it and the only available is "Cultural studies".

In contrast, "language studies" is more common than "linguistic studies".

So is there a way to tell whether a noun should use an adjective or a noun as its modifier?

Thanks so much.

In English, the word "culture" can refer to growing bacteria in a lab, and that is often called a culture study... maybe that's why the term for studying groups of people is cultural studies. I think language studies and linguistic studies are both correct.
