What happens if I delete the WOW64 node registry folder?

I think the DVD drive isn't working because of it.Do you think so? It gets recognized in device manager but it wont let me install the driver. Also it only detects the CD part not the DVD (its a combo drive)

    you won't be able to run any 32 bit software application on your 64 bit machine.
