Is it OK to pick an incorrect Best Answer?
I spend quality time looking up quality answers to questions (that are often almost incomprehensible). Shouldn't it be not OK to select as Best Answer an answer that is clearly incorrect?
I wanted to keep the question simple. What I'm suggesting is a way to communicate to Yahoo Answers (via new button?) that an incorrect answer has been selected as Best Answer. I'm taking about a completely incorrect answer, usually given for comedic effect.
BTW - I fail to see what's wrong with "should not it be "NOT OK"? - maybe punctuation helps?

I get what you're saying. I just started on here this week and have spent a lot of time looking up answers to provide a good response even when the question was worded so poorly that it really didn't make sense, and I've been chosen best answer a fair amount of the time. But yeah you would think that best answer would go to the best answer and not be treated as a game like it sometimes is. Like when a troll gets voted best answer for a sarcastic, funny answer that didn't answer the question at all. It happens though, and there's not too much that can really be done about it.
I try to just answer serious question only especially if I am going to take the time to look things up and provide links, and sources. If it seems like the asker is just being silly with their question, or asking as a joke, then I don't really bother with it. I may join in on the fun and post a silly answer, but I wouldn't spend time looking up any links.

Not really, but there's nothing to prevent a YA community member from choosing an incorrect answer as best answer. If the answer is misleading, it can still be reported. There is NO DEALINE for reporting violations of the community guidelines on YA, including incorrect answers. Yahoo is not legally liable for wrong or incorrect answers on YA.
The following statement has to be there BY LAW
"...Yahoo! does not evaluate or guarantee the accuracy of any Yahoo! Answers content. Click here for the Full Disclaimer. .."

Yahoo has no rules against it. As long as the answer answers the question it is ok. For example if someone asks "Who was the third president?" then "Germany" would be a violation but "Lincoln" would not be.

You are completely unclear of what you are actually asking us as the use of Shouldn't and Not makes it a Double negative.
It reads" should not it be not OK....."
The answer to the your question boils down to the fact that it is up to the user who asks the Q to decide which one to pick as the BA, regardless if it is correct or not, he/she may believe the words.
