As far as I know, we are the only animal that likes spicy food. I don't know where these other people are getting their ideas that birds "have no nerves" or whatever. Capsaicin is a defense that peppers evolved to keep mammals from eating their fruit. Mammalian digestive systems are too harsh on the seeds and they generally won't grow after we eat them. Birds, however are attracted to peppers by their bright colors and delicious taste, and distribute their seeds nicely after they eat the fruit. Birds are unaffected by the capsaicin, and thus they do not "eat spicy food."

I think other animals eat spicy foods, but don't necessarily 'like' or prefer them over any other foods. I'm not sure though, thats a good question! Best one I've heard in a long time...
Humans ARE animals. If you don't believe they are, then maybe you should go back to your little cloud and learn some primary-school biology.

Oh, dear. Some of these answers make me fear for our future. Humans are animals. We are members of the kingdom Animalia.
Anyway, yes, I believe that humans are the only animals who enjoy spicy food. There might be some other critters here and there that would eat it (scavengers, mostly, who are less picky about flavors, etc). However, I don't know that other animals have the same reaction to spicy food as we do.

Animals and humans are all the same. We are just supposed to be more evolved but that does not seem to be the case. Some animals other than humans do display taste for exotic foods,
and they when left to wander about or ravenous do eat strange foods from time to time, they even eat humans.
So, I feel that your answer is a definite NO! BTW many of the foods that we have learned to eat and be gastronomically comfortable with come from observing the food intake of other animals.

My dogs get some pretty spicy leftovers from time to time and last summer I had a problem with one of them eating the birdseye and jalapeno chillis I was trying to dry. But I don't know if they taste or "like" the spiciness in the same way we do.

Birds have no nerve endings in their beaks. This is why they can eat chilis without pain. There is a desert museum in Arizona that had a bird sanctuary that was being marauded by rats. They sprinkled the area with ground chilis and the rats, skunks possums etc etc all stayed away. I thought this was BS until I got invaded by rats. I put ground chilis all around and nothing comes into my place anymore. Who knew?

I was having nachos the other day and one of my dogs pinched the jalapeños from my plate when I wasn't looking.

Birds eat it but they do not have human tongues. I am not sure if they can taste "hot."
