if you're only 13 thats amazing! I play outside hitter for my club team in california. im 16 and 5'10 and with my approach i can get to 9'. I used The Jump Manual (google it) to get my verticle higher. It gave me about 2 more inches a week for 3 weeks. If you're really serious about volleyball you should get a personal trainer! Do a lot of push-ups and your hit will get harder gradually, the higher you jump the better your swing will be.

If you can jump higher, that doesn't neccisarily mean your hits will be harder. It's all about technique. The only thing your vertical effects is where the ball can go with the same amount of power. Let's say your vertical is ten inches. (that's not that good) you could have perfect form and amazing strength, but your hits will be on the end line of not out. If your vertical is higher, let's say 25, your hits will be better because they will be closer to the ten foot line and you are able to do cut shots. So yes, your vertical helps you, but it doesn't make your hits harder as in speed. Work on your back muscles and if you have assess to a gym that'd be great. Do lifts like lat-pulls (machine) and chainsaws (free weights/dumbbells) those work your back muscles which help the strength of your hits. Working on your triceps and biceps will also help. You can always google things that will help you work on those muscles.
Hope I helped!(:

Well, if she has a well setter and well top or vertical she will be able to hit the ball flawlessly plenty. I have a lady on my membership staff who is 5 foot 5 and whilst she will get a well set she will be able to slam the ball down at the ten foot line. I'm simplest 5 foot six and if I get a well set, well timing, and a well bounce I can hit beautiful good. There's additionally the truth that your pal mostly follows via along with her swing- that may upload A LOT of energy to an or else ok spike.

Make sure when you're hitting, the ball is in front of you. Start out facing the right side of the court slightly and turn your shoulders towards the ball as you hit it (this makes you open up and hit harder). Make sure you follow through, and when you jump, jump with both arms swinging up to get more momentum.

to get your vertical higher do a leg circuit (lunges, mountain climbers, block jumps, side jumps (big hop out little hops in) burpees, squats/ squat jumps) and have you heard of a vertimax? its a mat you jump on and you have a belt on and attach the bungee cords to the belt for resistance, some schools have one you can use, and some clubs have one too. To hit harder, get a stronger approach so you can jump higher, and swing through and snap hard. You can tense your abs when you snap to make it a little harder (does that make sense?)
