do you as AMERICANS think that Great Britain was being anything less than Arrogant.?

Arrogant it terms of the codicils that they insisted upon before Allowing the extradition of Abbu Hamza

to the USA

1 HAD TO BE TRIED IN A CIVILIAN COURT.2 PUNISHMENT COULD NOT INCLUDE THE DEATH PENALTY.

AND TWELVE OTHERS BUT YOU GET THE DRIFT.

As an Englishman I find this unacceptable,if he is found guilty in an American court of law ,who are we to dictate the sentencing of the convicted, I understand the need to protect Human rights, but what about the rights of the victims who is protecting them.

He tried every trick in the book to avoid being deported along with his cell, I feel cheated that British justice was not strong enough to make sure this terrorist never saw the light of day again.

Justice must be done but also seen to be done.

Update:

I an an Englishman, not British and can trace my family back to 1187. nor am I right wing, I am of the opinion that we are bending over to far with a nod to the burghers of Brussels, and IF i wanted to elicit a response from Britain I would have worded the question differently,I wanted an opinion of the average man in America if that is at all possible.

Reading RayHere's answer it seems that he thinks the USA can just waltz into a Sovereign nation and do as they please. If it worked like that Britain should have waltzed into the USA and captured IRA terrorists who were hiding out in the USA.

Believe it or not Ray but US officials can't even carry a firearm in the UK without British government permission. Your right to bear arms stops at your border.

Britain was not being arrogant at all. If a country wants someone extradited they have to live up to the extradition agreement. Plain and simple.

I'm an Englishman too, and the USA must abide by international extradition treaties. American law isn't international law.

Should we ask for Americans who were sponsoring IRA terror against England, or should we have just sent SAS hit teams to the USA for assassination purposes?

What I find unacceptable is that under NO circumstances will the US extradite a US citizen ANYWHERE no matter WHAT crime he is accused of.

(so THEY dont give a f//k about any non-us victims)

    THAT is ARROGANCE

But the UK will extradite a UK citizen to the US at the drop of a US hat

(the US does NOT even have to provide prima facie evidence that the person wanted even commited the crime.)

Why on earth the UK givernment agreed to it I'll NEVER know.

    Just to add

I dont give a F//K WHAT the US thinks.

Tough sh//t if they dont like it

Unfortunately when you have a law system you have to stick to it and not bend it all the time. He has been extradited to America which is more than they have ever done for us in any case. They do a far better job of protecting their criminals than we do. Typical rightwinger, anything that they feel strongly about, they think the law should be bended in their favour.

Source(s): The US authorities said that none of the accused were facing the death penalty anyway, it appears that this post is intended to stir up anti-British feeling by rightwingers in the US

Mexico does the same they also feel life imprisonment is inhuman they like you guys feel this demonstrates to the world you are truly compassionate and ''take them out to lunch and try and understand them'' people

I wish we Americans handled it the same way we did a few years back with drug dealers in Mexico who kidnapped an American agent tortured him to death and sent the tape to his wife and family with this American screaming out in pain the American government know who some of them were and Mexico were dragging their feet The American CIA just went into Mexico and took them the Mexican government protest as if we gave a bucket of warm spit we should have done the same with the Lockerbie bomber

Source(s): Whilst boy up there ''President'' Obama is not right wing and is very anti Brit you twit
