It's okay that you don't have lots of acting experience. You could still be good. Here are some useful tips for actors because I have done backstage stuff for a long time:

    1. Be VERY confident. Nothing can impress people more than being confident on stage.

    2. Speak clearly. No one wants a person to play a part if they slur their words.

    3. Depending on the part you want, convince the director that you are exactly like them- don't wear a costume with it or anything, just have the same attitude an speak similarly.

    4. Dress nicely and simply. Clothes that are aimed toward a certain group of people (goths, jocks, etc) can influence whether or not you get the part. Those clothes send off a message that could be very bad for you.

    5. Last, have your monologue memorized! Why would anyone want to put someone in a big part if they can't memorize their lines for a simple audition? They will also take you more seriously without a script onstage, it's more real and convincing, which is good.

Although I agree with Luna, I'm just going to say...

NEVER (If i could underline it I would) us the words "try out" and "drama" in the same sentence unless it's "I won't try out for the basketball team because I want to audition for drama club". Use 'Audition'.

Other than that... Break a leg!

Start praying and asking God for His aid. He is Your Salvation, Hope, Strength, Rock, and Shelter. The guide of Psalm is in which I move while I consider at misplaced or lonely or want aid with anger. Third Day, Jeremy Camp, and Jesus Culture are well corporations. Also, listening to a few Christian tune like the ones and Hillsong United and Christian radio stations K-Love and Air one million Radio aid plenty while I'm feeling down.
