The next Xbox will be announced in June at E3 2013 and then it'll be released in October or November of 2013.
We don't know how much it'll cost and not many specs have been leaked yet. As we get closer to next June, we'll start to see more and more leaks. More than likely, Microsoft will sell it for about the same price as the Xbox 360.
With both the Xbox 360 and PS3, the manufacturers are selling the consoles at a small lost but then they make profit off of the consoles by making the game developers give them a small portion of the money made from the sales of the games. Microsoft also makes money by selling the Xbox Live Gold subscriptions and the advertisements on the Xbox home screen.
