How do I convince my computer to use another zip program than winzip....?

....which appears to believe that it is the only zip/unzip program that is on the machine, and my 'free use' seems to have lapsed (I thought that WinZip was free for non-commercial use anyway) Could it be a problem associated with 64-bit Windows 7? (My previous computer was an 32 bit XP model) I do have a copy of 7-Zip on my machine, which is a 'free-use' program, but the machine goes straight to WinZip when I have a zip file to deal with.... Any suggestions would be gratefully received....

Winrar is the best unzipper, but all you have to do is:

    Right click on the file

    "Open with"

    Select the program

    Click drop-down arrow

    "Always open with this program"

Anything you wish to use as non winzip drag on to the desktop then right click the icon and go down to open with, then open with 7-zip

    Hello,

You can download WinZip for free here http://bitly.com/1p6PMg4

Besides the classic ZIP format, WinZip is able to open many others extension (RAR, BZ2, CAB, LHA, 7Z, IMG, ISO)

    It's a good free solution.
