Juniors struggles all of the sudden?

I have to admit that I am no fan of Jr. based entirely on the fact his talent and his hype are no where near equal. I also have to admit that Jr had a very good first 26 races, shocking to me. But as soon as the Chase started he seems to have disappeared. Suddenly his top5's and 10's are top 20's?

I think I have a reason but want to see if anyone else thinks the same.

Like I said, not a fan and I can back up my observation with FACTS! Not trying to be a !@#$-hole, come with facts!

Update:

Two Lane I'm willing to toss out Dega, can you explain the drop off at Dover, NH and Chicago? Or are you in complete denial that he has really dropped off that last month?

Update 2:

@Rob - Something changed when the Chase started besides the fact everyone started trying like the guy above you stated. I'll give you a day or two.

And again, not being mean, stupid or rude, I think I have a reason.

Excuse me, but just a general observation here: Just reading the first sentence in your additional details, shows you have hurt feelings, when I never understand why someone is upset over a driver who is merely "the competition". I mean, "why fear the competition?" I myself like all the drivers, because if I had a favorite driver, and he beat all the other drivers, that would make me feel good. (Everyone knows how I feel) In essence your looking for people to help you bash on Junior. It's simple perception and no psychic observation, and then you go on to say "Like I said, not a fan and I can back up my observation with FACTS! Not trying to be a !@#$-hole", which is rather insulting to the regulars here. Calm down and enjoy the performances of each and every driver and don't have a negative attitude. It's more fun that way, and that's all motorsports and racing is about. Fun. That's all. Not everyone can be the best, but every driver does have fans. Especially from guys like me who have no time or money invested in any of the organizations and can accept NASCAR 100% and have fun with it, because it is only there for spectator entertainment, and not to make me get hurt feelings. So Junior isn't living up to your expectations. How do you think the Carl Edwards fans feel, or even the Martin Truex Jr. fans. Well, guess what. We're having a great season enjoying each and every performance they are willing to put on for us. So, come on! Enjoy the fun, and lets go racing!

The only time he's been sharp throughout the Chase this year was 'Dega, and we all know how that ended. The whole team has fallen flat, not just the man behind the wheel. It takes a team to win, and it takes a team to lose, and just about every week now they've been behind the 8 ball beginning with when they show up at the track. And he's not the only guy. Look at Kenseth and Biffle. Same story for those teams as well.

When the Chase starts, the BS really stops. A lot of drivers are pretty conservative before the Chase starts because they just want to maintain and make the "playoffs." Come Chase time, the drivers really amp it up and go for wins; I like Dale, but at the end of the day, he isn't nearly as capable of winning races as other drivers who make the Chase. He is hard pressed to compete with drivers like Jimmie, Tony, Brad, Denny, etc. Consistency pretty much guarantees a Chase spot, but drivers HAVE to win races in the Chase for a championship hope.

Also, Dale has never been one who has done great under pressure. He tends to have quite a few speeding penalties and screw ups in general when the pressure is on.

NASA CAR's Brian France only needed Jr to look good during the races leading up to the chase in order to make TV ratings remain up. Once the chase starts NASA CAR figures the ratings will take care of themselves.

IF YOU PEOPLE RECALL I PREDICTED THIS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR. Yet some people are too stupid to see what slaps them up side their heads.

Let me agree and get the THUMBS DOWN!!!! I speak of facts only also I dont dislike Jr But I get totally sick of hearing about him from the announcers. He gets way too much Publicity for what he has accomplished. Now for the FACTS Jr was the slowest qualifier and finisher of the Hendrick Drivers at New Hampshire--also the same story at Dover, but he did finish ahead of Kahne at Dover due to Caseys extra pit stop. Talladega he was down lap for alot of the Race and was the Lowest finisher of the Hendrick Drivers. Fact Mark Martin won more races for HMS than Jr. Fact Kasey Kahne has more victories for HMS than Jr does this Year. Jr has had every advantage during the Off seasons to help him--Changing crew chiefs moving into the 48 team shop having the Best Chassis, engineers, engine tuners, best fabricators at the 88 teams disposal in the off seasons. He hasnt been the same since his wreck in the Corvette in 2004 I think this is still in his mind!!!! And it effects his driving every since then. JUST FACTS but let the thumbs down roll...

I'm no fan of Jr. Just neutral. My dad's a Jr. fan. The thing is, I think, with Jr.'s Chase choke it's a bit like Kyle. He probably can't handle the pressure, as some say about Kyle, who I'm weird neutral on. I think that and others tried harder. Maybe his Sonoma crash and his dad's death affected him somehow.

It is simple Dale Jr. is a coward and is afraid to race for wins. He is a loser and his career is over. He just drives around so he can collect all that sponser money that is wasted on him. He is doing the same thing Kyle Petty did at the end of his career.

Same thing happened to Bifle and Kenseth. I wish I had a better explanation for you than, that's sports. There's up and downs.

During the chase, most of the best goes to the #48.The #48 and the #88 are in the same garage.
